History:
With a lease from the Bureau of Reclamation (BLM), the Town of Bluff owns and operates the Bluff Airport.  Originally built for uranium and mineral exploration in the region, it was a dirt strip for many years. In 2001, Gene Foushee, a Bluff business owner, geologist and pilot, worked together with San Juan County and Utah Department of Transportation’s Utah Division of Aeronautics, to get the strip paved. To encourage the upgrade Foushee offered to build the 4-place hangar.  More than 20 years later, San Juan County transferred the BLM lease to the newly incorporated Town of Bluff.

The Bluff Airport is located within the Town’s boundaries, 4 miles west of the Townsite, south of Hwy 163, and east of Comb Ridge. The Foushee Hangar @ V66 has 4 rentable bays. There is no water, fuel or lights at the airport. A courtesy car is often made available by Recapture Lodge, 435-672-2281.
